Over the last week or so I was shooting a roll of Kodak Portra 160 in my Olympus Trip 35, which I have had for over a year without trying it out. Such a fun camera to use and dead simple, any idiot like myself can use it….hey what, who said that!

Generally my film ventures are mixtures of street photography, streetscapes and other totally random stuff.  I must say that every single frame from this roll I was happy with, except maybe the frame when the girl walked in front of the awesome Targa West beast of a car.  I can see myself shooting more and more film in the future, watch this space…

When shooting the streets I am looking for something interesting, be that a person or group of people doing something odd or just being themselves.  Often I see many things happening that may be somewhat ordinary, but combined and layered in a photograph they make the scene look very cool and worthy of a capture.  These are normal people, going about their business and they all made me happy creating art.layers

An odd title yes I know, and also something that I have shot before on my street walks but I had a fancy new to me film camera given to me but a guy at work (Thanks Neil).  I was actually shooting some kind of Kodak colour film, sorry I can’t actually remember which film it was but it was expired and developed with a horrible colour tinge to it, so I just converted to black and white….this was the result, I like it and makes me want to shoot more film BUT which camera. The new to me F90X, the much loved FM2 or my F3, yes I will shoot the F3 but alas it is sick and had to take it to the doctors for an operation.
