OMG he shot street photography in portrait, what is going to happen…the sky is falling. I’ve done it again and broken the rules of street photography, or was there even such a rule.  I saw this photo, it was down an alley and a taller photo suited the shot, it was even interesting when I saw it though not sure I really captured the moment but here goes anyways.phone break

Never work with children or animals they say, and here I am photographing a kid playing wiht birds.  Brilliant I thought, he will scare the crap out of the birds and they all fly all over the place filling the frame while he runs frantically to his parents…the perfect shot!

Nope…didn’t happen, but I liked how the layers fill the frame, and the way that kid is just standing there just looking at his new friends.birds

W.A. Day here is not so sunny Perth, on the Monday public holiday and I went strolling the streets with my good friends Jessie-n-Rob (they are married I can join their names haha). I snapped a bunch of photos as I usually do and for me, I am trying out posting a lot more in colour now days and I had a series around the donut van that was very bright but I couldn’t decide what I liked.  Posting all three shots up, they all have their pros-n-cons and I will let you all decide…

what, no people!!!

Here I go again, breaking the “rules” but I don’t care, my street photography does not require a person in the shot to be good, well I think it is good anyway.  It was a “what the” moment that had to be captured, I mean who doesn’t like to rest the roller door on the front of your car…but no stopping right?crushed

I don’t ever post family photos to my street photography blog, they are definitely not “street” type photographs…or should I say they normally aren’t street style of photograph.

We were at Sculptures by the Sea down at Cottesloe Beach today, and I was photographing a little  bit of the sculptures, a little street and generally just having a look as it was that sort of day.  I turn around and they are doing a selfie well worthy of any street shot I would normally take and here it is…bless them hahafamily photo

I am photographing many shows at @fringeworld in Perth this year, and while I am not shooting for Fringe I am shooting for me.

Last night after watching pirates fight with the general population with balloon swords, an extraordinary show took place. Mermaids no burlesque cabaret dancers no well yes to all the above, and I happened to be there with my trusty FujiFilm X100F.

Many would argue what is street photography and what it is not and to be honest I don’t care, it is what I want it to be especially on my own blog.  What I have liked in the recent times with street photography, is simplicity.  Street life, shadows, simple paths being crossed, or chance shots.  Not limiting to myself on this for sure, but it is what I am looking for more of lately.
