Never work with children or animals they say, and here I am photographing a kid playing wiht birds.  Brilliant I thought, he will scare the crap out of the birds and they all fly all over the place filling the frame while he runs frantically to his parents…the perfect shot!

Nope…didn’t happen, but I liked how the layers fill the frame, and the way that kid is just standing there just looking at his new friends.birds

I love this time of the year, the Christmas spirit is everywhere and there is so many people around doing their thing.  Of course this all helps when I am doing my thing, photographing anything I can and all keeping with the Christmas Spirit.so this is christmas

on the leftFor whatever reason I decided to frame this guy on the very left as I enjoyed the architecture around him, contrasting shapes and textures. What was he doing, just reading a menu, not much point for lunch as the place was closed but perhaps he was going back in the evening but whatever it was he made a good moment in time to capture.  Oh yeah, and I shot this on a shiny new Fujifilm X100F.

Winter has well and truly hit Perth, it’s cold and wet a lot of days and even colder at nights.  Great time to be out shooting, puddles, lots of bright coats and jackets, then of course there is the umbrellas.

Well I never had any of that today, I met a couple of mates Wing and Sandra in the city for some shooting.  We chatted and shot and chatted more to be honest before it was time to head back to the office, though found a few shots that I liked.

I was trying something out, shooting a guy pushing a pram between the branches of a tree.  It worked, captured him reasonably well centred but as I snapped the shot, this little kid who was in the pram noticed me and poked his finger at me haha…check it out, cheeky little lad.poke the finger

When shooting the streets I am looking for something interesting, be that a person or group of people doing something odd or just being themselves.  Often I see many things happening that may be somewhat ordinary, but combined and layered in a photograph they make the scene look very cool and worthy of a capture.  These are normal people, going about their business and they all made me happy creating art.layers

I was walking around taking a few photos here and there and was reasonably happy with my street shooting, then I walked past a particular place where the contrast between the background and people was just perfect.  I found a great place to plonk myself on my rear end and waited for right time, the right peoples that made it interesting and I think I got a bunch of great shots….check them out!!!

Anyone who ventures to the Freo markets will recognise this guy, he is always there selling his boomerangs that actually work and flying them over everyones head in demonstrations.  I was quietly waiting for him to make eye contact while a rang was mid air, I waited for ages while the crowd was gathered and watching but he never looked my way til the end when the crowds had moved on and there were no rangs in flight but his smile makes the photo.big smiles
